The Provincial Act for the 126th Anniversary of the Start of the Necessary War will be in Jagüey Grande

On February 24, when we commemorate the 126th anniversary of the Beginning of the Necessary War, organized and directed by José Martí, we Jagueyenses will develop the provincial act. A group of young people, as is traditional, made the bike ride that will start at 7:30 am from the busts of José Martí and Dr. Martín Marrero in the park, to whom they will deposit floral offerings. The event will be set at the obelisk located in the Palmar Bonito historical site. On February 24, 1895, 41 Jagueyenses led by Dr. José Lázaro Martín Marrero, delegate of the Cuban Revolutionary Party in the territory, took up arms at the “La Sirena” farm and on the 26th they held the first combat of the West of Cuba and the fourth of the country at the Start of the Necessary War.
